Dugong watching

Dugong

Dugong, also known as sea cow are vegetarians and can be found in the warm coastal water of North Busuanga. They grow up 8 to 10 feet long and 500 to 1000 pound weight. The eco-tourism program “Dugong Watching“ has been setup by Philippine government together with University of the Philippines (UP) System. They trained 30 people called “Bantay Dugongs” who will ensure the efficiency, sustainability, and protection of the marine wildlife. every dive will be leaded by these Bantay Dugongs.

Apo Reef

Apo Reef is the second largest contiguous coral reef in the world and the largest one in the Philippines. The Apo Reef Natural Park consists of the three islands. The Apo Reef National Park centered around the reef was founded in 1996, and the reef is the largest reef system in the Philippines covering over 1150 square kilometers or about 450 square miles.
Apo Reef is a place, where an extensive wealth of marine life can be found. There is a ranging from great macro photography opportunities to schools of large pelagic fish including many species of shark, barracuda and manta rays.

Coron Wrecks

Coron Bay has best wreck diving spots in Southeast Asia. On 24 September 1944, a squadron of 24 Helldiver bombers burst out of the sky above Coron Bay, located the Japanese supply fleet hiding among the islands below, and proceeded to blow it apart.
There is nothing quite like the feeling to stay in Coron Bay, knowing that you have at least half a dozen huge wartime vessels lying under the water. Each wreck has its own special characteristics, but on the whole they are big, mostly intact, within reasonable diving depth and full of amazing artefacts.
If you prefer to explore the exterior of shipwrecks, these are ideal. The decks are wonderfully encrusted with coral and swarming with fish life. There are deckhouses, masts, cranes and lookout perches. The hulls have rows of portholes to give glimpses into the cabins. There are still anti-aircraft guns in place and huge circular gun mounts.
Massive holds yawn beneath you, and in places the deck has been peeled back by the bombs, allowing you to float safely down into the belly of the ship.
There is also a very interesting dive site called Barracuda Lake. It is a former volcano where you can dive and discover amazing rock formations! In addition there is also good reef diving with nice coral on the nearby Islands of Calambuyan Island and Seven Islands.
